A fungible token standard on Bitcoin using Ordinals inscriptions. Tokens are defined and transferred through JSON inscriptions in witness data. Created significant network activity and fee pressure in 2023.
Technical Notes
Operations: deploy (define token), mint (create units), transfer (two-step: inscribe transfer, send inscription). Inefficient: each operation requires separate inscription. Succeeded by Runes for efficiency.
